Her father is Hassan Khan who is a choreographer who works for different TV serials. Her mother passed away when she was a small kid. She has a younger sister whose name is Sania Touqeer.

She started her career on Indian television in the year 2011 when she got a chance to play a character in a very famous serial named Chandragupta Maurya. After Chandragupta Maurya, She got a chance to play the character of Mehtab in another very popular TV show Jodha Akbar in the year 2013.
After Jodha Akbar, she got a role in Waris in the year 2016. She was then selected for the serial Isharon Isharon Mein in the year 2019.
We all have seen Sumbul Touqeer in one of the most super hit movies of Bollywood in the year 2019 which was Article 15. She has even worked in a short Hindi film named Ghar ki Jyoti. Right now we can see Sumbul playing the main character of Imlie in Star Plus serial Imlie. Fans love her performance in the serial very much and they connect with her character.
